ABOUT ME
Jana Rajcova, M.A. is a photojournalist and storyteller focusing on social and environmental stories. She has a Masters in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from the University of Westminster, London (UK) and lives in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Jana is devoted to document those everyday simple yet special moments, as well as moments when we are at the lowest point of our lives. This passion runs throughout her personal work which expands to the coverage of the more contemporary issues in her home country and abroad, such as themes of humanity, religion or the environment and changes to the environment, which she translates into her own experiences. She creates framework for the human to reflect on the consequences of our decisions and actions. She thrives to create a dialogue between her and her subjects while finding new perspectives and provoking critical views to stimulate the thinking of the viewer.
Her work is held in the archive of The International Centre of Photography in New York, as well as various private collections.
Jana also writes about photography, she is an editor of the following media: FOTOma.sk, Dokumentmagazin.sk, and Fotonoviny.
